If all else fails, the state will magically find a insect, reptile or rodent with an adaptive trait different from their fellow genetic species to kill the entire project.

I’m afraid this is much too optimistic a take. There are still numerous delaying tactics the Greens and the Left can and will employ, and Trump won’t be president forever.

When there is a gas outage in NYC from low pressure or the power goes out when the weather is harsh this will cause major unrest. Looking like a catastrophic event is the only way to stop this nonsense.

Pipelines are expensive - and giant boondoggle windmills aren't? At least the pipelines have a positive outcome for the people Hochul is supposed to be serving. Can't say that for the windmills. And as long as anyone with any sense at all sits in Washington the whales will have some reprieve from the devastating activities of the surveyors.

The rationale for denying the original pipeline permits was that they would cause water quality issues at stream crossings and in New York harbor. That problem was overlooked when the Champlain Hudson Power Express underground transmission line was permitted and when the power lines from offshore wind was routed into NYC. About time for some reality

Of course we could play the DEI game and have "Token American Indian Tribes" become major partners in the establishment of these gas pipeline companies much like they did with the "Checkerboarding" of Casinos and Gas stations to avoid paying State taxes. Cuomo thumbed his nose at the Sherrill Decision and therefore set a precedent. The State has no say if the pipeline right of way is now "sovereign territory" and it would put an "emotional millstone" around the necks of the Far Left who control people like Hochul and the NRDC. As long as the projects comply with Federal Regulations and Laws like the Clean Air and Water Acts, DEC can go "twirl" !!!
