Thank you Tom for posting this. I have a lot of friends in the power equipment supply chain and to a person....they/we all are concerned about the loss of manufacturing capacity for large presses, gun drills, forgings, seamless high grade alloy tubing and all that it takes to manufacture large power generation equipment. Take these issues and compare electric Demand increases and it looks pretty bleak. Just saw Mike Caravaggio's post on LI showing how Demand Peaks are growing and growing significantly. Thank God we have President Trump...but it will be hard to overcome the harm caused by Obama, past Democrat controlled Congress and Biden. Here is link to Mike's post: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/michael-caravaggio_demand-has-started-growing-again-in-the-us-activity-7335443591307157504-4PKn?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAI4KQUBYW-cbQRlA1kgj9X3llGi7u6KNnQ

Great essay. This is a must read for every green energy activist. It’s so frustrating. In the 80’s I was. BT on a Destroyer it had two CE 1200 psi boilers in each fire room. They were fun to operate. Thanks for a great article, prayers some more people will care to be educated on these issues.

I have a home standby, ya'll want to turn off my AC, I'll just make my own juice. I am sure the gas company will be glad to sell me the fuel

We do too, but the cost of operating it is 4 gallons of propane per hour. Makes more sense imo to get our ducks in a row with electricity generation.

The other option is to not supply the AI data centers from the grid. Thereby reducing the public financing. The data center operators can build or utilize existing but retired plants and pay for the plant operation. Interesting, none of these data centers are selecting wind and solar for their plants. No wonder why as the commercial viability of the data center operation is competitive and poor decisions don’t make money. This is aside from the discussion as to whether or not we need the AI data centers. Just the growth in residential electricity consumption is going to be a strain on the finances and the distribution system, so any stress we can remove from the grid is good.
