Yes, I said “hoped would happen” because purveyors of environmental doom always secretly hope their sad sack predictions come true. It’s the only way to show just how smart they are. And, the point in the case of the Great Barrier Reef cause is to destroy civil society with a view toward creating a green socialist utopia and a pot of grifters’ gold at the end of the climate change rainbow. Things seldom work out for environmental doomsayers, though.
When we look at real life barometers for the markers of climate change we rarely see any. And as every barometer becomes subject to the microscope of public scrutiny we find that climate change is not alarming but a general cycle that our ancestry could not overcome and had to be subject to. We on the other hand-because of fossil fuels=energy-are in a privilege position to have mastered. We can grow food where before where not possible, live where not possible, survive storms, etc. Remember Norway was a tropical place, it's colder now in Greenland than when the Vikings settled it, Norwegian Roald Amundsen found a route making the first complete passage in 1903–1906. Until 2009, the Arctic pack ice prevented regular marine shipping throughout most of the year. So again we have real life measurements to show that climate change was worse for human kind in the past and the planet continued on.
Back during the Stone Age circa 15,000 years ago, The area known as the Great Barrier Reef was about 200 to 300 ft above mean sea level at the time. Did Fred Flintstone and eating too many "Bronto Burgers" cause a Climate Crisis??🤔🤔🤔😁😁😁😁
Corals and other reef animals prefer warmer water conditions, that's why they grow in tropical areas. The greatest expanse of coral reefs in geologic history occurred when the climate was much warmer than today. Cold conditions are much more likely to cause extinctions because warm-weather animals have nowhere to go from tropical areas when they cool down. Under warming conditions, animals that prefer cooler climates can migrate northward. It's so inconvenient for the climate warriors that we have the geologic record to contradict everything they are saying.
Great article. I like that old English saying “the truth will out”. Sooner or later the stench of putrid BS will be so bad that most people will respond unfavorably to the BS that the reef is dying of heatstroke.

I love diving on The Reef, so I'm glad I'll get to do it again.

Green predictions have had almost no success.
I loved the last comment in the clip about mangrove growth. Mangroves are nurseries to a whole host of fish species. Thanks for the article.
Good one to keep on the radar, Thank you!
The biggest threat to these reefs are silt, fertilizer nutrients, and other toxic chemical runoff from land.
