The closure of Indian Point wasn’t a “win” for the environmentalists. The word “win” doesn’t belong as the noun describing coercive actions. They destroyed the productive value of nuclear energy out of sheer envy for both it’s superior power and human values that created it; nuclear energy mirrors the mastery of nature which is discordant to environmentalism yet a godsend to human flourishing. The closing of Indian Point was another immoral act by the environmentalists.

"Today, Indian Point’s cooling towers stand silent along the Hudson, a reminder of a divisive chapter in New York’s energy history." QQQ>>did Indian Point Nuclear have cooling towers????Search Labs | AI Overview

Yes, Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant did have once-through cooling systems, but they did not have cooling towers. The plant used Hudson River water for cooling, drawing it in, circulating it through the plant, and then returning it to the river. The plant's once-through cooling system was a point of contention due to its impact on aquatic life in the Hudson River.

I believe what people mistake as cooling towers is actually the containment DOMES for the nuclear reactors. Unfortunately HOLTEC to decommission IP nuclear had to basically cut a huge hole into the containment domes which ruined the ability to withstand to 1000 PSI Plus in case catastrophic accident happened inside where the reactor was.

The Crystal River 3 pressurized water reactor in Florida was shut down in September 2009 for refueling. During the refueling outage, the original steam generators were scheduled to be replaced. The process of cutting an opening in the concrete containment wall for the steam generator replacement inflicted extensive damage to the concrete. When the cost of fixing the broken containment rose too high, the owner opted to permanently shut down the facility before its original operating license expired.

Face it, Cuomi is an Idiot. Hochul is an idiot. New York is in trouble because they voted in idiots. But there’s still a train full of elected politicians in New York following these two!!

The voters in New York caused the issue and they too must be counted as idiots.
