If we could eliminate the income tax and instead go to a national sales tax (not as impossible as it sounds, if the republicans see victory in next years election).

Eliminating the income tax and all its complex, never-ending rules and regulations and tax breaks and loopholes for insiders would go a long way towards leveling the playing field.

Another option would be a flat tax with no special favors or loopholes.

Thousands of tax accountants and lawyers would have to get more productive jobs.

And thousands of small businesses would be able to concentrate on their business instead of worrying about figuring their taxes.

And the 34,000 IRS employees who were just furloughed could be added to, permanently.

Finally this pernicious parasitic problem is being more widely discussed.

The heart of despicable corruption mixed with fantastic organizations. Congratulations Tom and Dick (and the many I know I have missed) for tackling the Gordian Knot of NGO's.

Tom, You are spot on (again). Thank you for lifting up the problem of NGOs. I have written about the Deep Swamp and included the NGOs that are part of it and the more I dig, the worse it looks. You do a great job and please know, your work is appreciated.
