Tom, like you I tend to agree with David Blackmon: His vast hands-on experience and verbal skills are reliable barometers.
In my 25 years of soaking in the whirlwind of energy and environmental, I have come to realize that continuing activism of energy pragmatism can lead to energy humanism and economic development. Three cheers to all energy friends, teammates and allies.
It has been my experience that when wind/solar companies and their conflicted borderline corrupt politician supporters are given an inch, they take TEN MILES. This is a corrupt business. It's a scam to the Nth degree-------and the Senate just gave the wind/solar lobbyists that inch I just mentioned.
The Presidents original plan was to drop taxes.Keeping these useless and ridiculous subsidies, increases taxes .So the whole point of the bill seems to ruined with this one potentially stupid move.Kind of going the wrong way, time to turn RIGHT!!
Many Americans may or may not yet realize that the Great Reset requires a controlled demolition of our existing energy systems (oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear) because they sustain a growing global human population which is anathema to the the World Enslavement Forum’s deindustrialization, depopulation, and dehumanization plans; disguised as a solution to Climate Emergency.
Just like they substituted a reliable system of vaccination based upon a dead or attenuated pathogen for a novel never before used on humans (never mind 6 billion people at one time) M-rna/lipid nanoparticle, unknown adjuvant, SV40 contaminated, non-GMP compliant platform; disguised as a solution to a once in a century Medical Emergency.
Thank you and Mr Epstein and Mr Blackmon for all your heroic efforts at preventing the controlled demolition of our reliable energy systems. We all gain from your education and efforts and it’s only a matter of degree and timeframe separating Epstein and Blackmon conclusions. But the rest of us need to follow your lead.
I appreciate what Epstein and Blackmon said. There is one factor that needs to be highlighted......
When supply chains are examined, another more concerning trend emerges. Almost all of the supply chains for solar and wind begin in Communist China. That nation is where most of the value added occurs. In other nations, it is low-level assembly jobs to obscure the nation of origin, such as assembling sophisticated Chinese electronics in Vietnam to obtain a "made in Vietnam" label. In the industrial West, it is almost all temporary construction jobs connected with installing solar and wind generation. Thus, the relentless promotion of solar and wind to the West amounts to little more than a means to increase employment in China. The BRICS nations are given a free pass regarding the pollution from burning massive amounts of fossil fuels. For example, in 2024, Chine consumed more coal than the rest of the world combined. The West is supposed to eschew nuclear power, being led by Germany's unnecessary shutdown of all of its nuclear power plants in 2023. Again, the BRICS nations are utilizing and building large nuclear power plant fleets. Such hypocrisy!
I would not be surprised to learn about the generous lobbying funding at all levels of government by the Chinese.
Remember, it's the same people who strangled baseload energy growth for the last 60 years who want "renewable energy". They haven't changed their stripes. Anything they do is an act of deception that cloaks their desire to reduce abundant energy by building thousands of fake power plants that lack the capacity to replace baseload plants. And the passage of this bill gives them more time to do that.
I'd prefer they kill every subsidy and claw back every unspent cent, but Blackmon's argument is somewhat reassuring, especially after having read Epstein's critique yesterday eve. The bit that concerns me the most is the potential for the subsidies to survive until the next time a different congress has the opportunity to kick the can down the road again. Government programs of any sort are like cockroaches; it sometimes seems the only way to ensure their death is to burn down the whole thing.
This is not a time to give in or extend any more subsidies. Trump has the house, senate, and largely the support of moderates that are fed up with excessive spending and subsidies. After decades of subsidies for wind and solar they are either going to make it on their own or they go away. This will not be good for midterms as the press and liberal media will exploit every issue they can get the public to feel sympathy about. Stop the madness!
Alex still makes a good point regarding the waste of taxpayer dollars. Maybe the waste will be tens of billions instead of hundreds, but it’s real money just the same. And, who knows what will happen in another couple of years. Republicans and Democrats have been complicit in renewing these taxpayer giveaways for the past 30+ years. Now is the best chance to eliminate the destructive and expensive federal subsidies.

And the inventor of “ism.”

So well said!
I remain hopeful that the big green grift spigot will be turned off but I don't trust politicians when money is involved
Amen!
