Excellent article!!!

The first chart says it all! China isn’t stupid. They consume over 50% of the world’s coal (and rising) and have approximately the same number of operating coal-fired power plants in the world.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/859266/number-of-coal-power-plants-by-country/?srsltid=AfmBOooBWYqy9o56WE1u-NMm5u5sAi1Jv-R4b8ZZ1ACMH8rP37IRzf-7

If folks in the U.S. and other western countries truly believed in this idea of “no coal”, they should stop purchasing all products sourced from most of Asia (China, India, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, etc.).

This would impact most big box stores and retailers immediately!

In the meantime, coal from states like Wyoming and Montana ride in coal cars on railroad tracks to western U.S. ports, non-stop every day. I see them every day and ask myself why we ship coal by the millions of tons to faraway places while restricting their consumption domestically.

The removal of coal, & eventually every form of reliable & formerly affordable fuel never had truthfully anything to do with clean air or health of we the people. I believe it emanated from the UN, which is lusting for power, & thrilled to depopulate any portion of the world population as long as there are enough left to do all the grunt work (whatever that may be) for the grifting loons. As some people are now aware, the communists are not content with ruining our daily use of power for homes & small businesses, or the medical industry, or our food supply. They are crushing farmers & coming after our good water source for Salem, OR later this Fall, by doing a first of 3 "deep draw downs" of our Detroit Lake Reservoir, to SEE after 3 years of the experiment, if it is beneficial for the salmon making it past the dam to spawn. And of course, it is already costing $millions$ replacing the underground sand & gravel filters at the water treatment plant. There are fish ladders in place at the dam, which reportedly work if maintained, but not much is being properly maintained after nearly 40yrs of Dem control, which looks more like communist control in 2026. So, the UN has outlined their plans with so much wordy blah-blah which usually means the cost or inconvenience to all of we the peons, doesn't matter as along the way, about 7 Billion of the world population are in the crosshairs! We sre the carbon they want gone. "Net Zero" is us. Well, the only thing that keeps me going is knowing the God knows the end from the beginning, & He will have the last word. Sin is the problem. Jesus Christ is the cure.

Yes, very interesting and lots of details I hadn't known before.

Coal is still much needed and should not be denigrated.

Thank you for this detailed information about coal. However, you missed a revolutionary advance, that from Frontieras. They have. Proven technology to fractionate coal on a mass scale, producing a range of products, from urea to pure Carbon to kerosene, and zero waste. Frontieras has broken ground and is building an $850-million facility in West Virginia, the heart of coal country. They envision putting their technology at existing coal power plants as well, and as I understand it, will obviate a lot of the cleaning and scrubbing this article describes. Frontieras has pre-IPO investment available, and a ticker for eventual listing (on NASDAC). Disclosures: I am not an official spokesman, only one who has invested in Frontieras’s registered pre-IPO offering, and may invest more in their next round of pre-IPO funding.

Great post.I love the statement "the public's low Energy IQ".Perfect!! so right and so sad. These low IQ people make decisions based on not knowing all the details.Like going into a store blind folded and choosing your food!!

The coal story is a great example of technology improving use over time. The coal hasn’t changed but our technology in burning coal for power plants has radically improved emissions reductions. The comparison of flue gas to human breath is very demonstrative. I love CO2 and wish we had more.

Thank you Tom for publishing this. The reason I wrote it was because of the public's low Energy IQ, I thought the Flue Gas Cleaning story needed to be told. I thought I would just google the topic and spread some of the info around. To my great surprise, I could not find a presentation geared to educate the public on the fine work that has been done to clean up coal power. Thus, the reason I wrote this. Thanks again for your help in improving the knowledge of the public.
