It sounds like they have way too little battery storage. They have 100 MWH, or about 2 hours if the load is 30 MW and the round trip efficiency of the battery is 70%. Way too little. They need at least 24 hours of storage, 1200 to 1500 MWH, and enough generation to keep the battery storage charged. Probably 5 times what they have now. That should get them into the 90% range, but they really do still need healthy gas turbines for those special days. Cheap and easy…no?
