I’m VERY tempted to relate what’s going on here with what is likely declining subsidies for these projects. One of your previous articles simply and brilliantly outlined how renewable energy has been kept alive through a pseudo life support for several years now, i.e., through incentives that have been embedded in bills passed by Congress. These floating wind projects, just like the influx of all the other land-based wind projects, too, will result in a low return on investment despite the billions spent and to be spent on construction.

Representative government has become a carnival of profligate spending on often dubious projects literally wasting trillions of dollars over time. Congress has become a more corrupt institution because little or no changes have been made to make government accountable. In fact, Congress has deliberately avoided increasing accountability to do virtually any thing they want and the public be damned. Government has become an unaccountable slush fund and elected politicians care only about the funds going to their slush.
