When all out ours gets on line, what will happen? What does the extra power do, jump off the lines?

Incredible! Amazing! As I read this, various thoughts popped into my head, like "Be careful what you wish for", and "The law of diminishing returns", and "unintended consequences".

Until now, I've been saying that rooftop solar makes more sense than solar "farms" (mainly because you already have the distribution system in place plus there's no additional land footprint), but now I have to revise that - the obvious solution, for those that can afford it, is to disconnect your rooftop solar from the grid, and install your own backup battery system.

That way 1) you'll be independent of the grid's failures, and 2) you'll be helping everyone else who is stuck with the grid by reducing a little bit of their problem.

It might behoove Australia to encourage people to go off grid and if they insist on subsidizing something, do it for home backup batteries.

Such a well planned failure!

It is truly astounding that citizens keep government staff that apparently are not as well educated as the average citizen. It’s time to cut the greenie crap and get common sense in place - that means existing regulatory staff must go and current elected politicians must go. Forcing yourself into a corner where there is no way out is just plain stupid.
