"Moreover, if we’re going to make the hydrogen from natural gas, why not just go CNG, LNG, or propane and eliminate the middleman? Propane isn't hard to find, after all."

Precisely, it's called *bridging* from a defective legacy system to the contemporary version. Something that politicians don't even comprehend unless we're talking big tech software, then it's supposed to be tolerated. Because they survive in their fantasy world; pandering to a Hollywood ending...

... the public is memorized, then willingly open the purse strings of endless taxations and supplimentation, that whichever supports their hopium - distopian reality.

If big auto wasn't so beholden to big oil, there would be no conversation.

It's a stalling tactic meant to buy time for the problem makers to become the problem solvers and retain their existence. Meanwhile the plebian suffers the consequences, both environmental and financial.

Correct -CO2 is not a problem. H is very hard to transport as it is such a small molecule it finds every leak in a system. To retool our gas stations to handle H is alone an uneconomical task. But why try to step in with another technology that is not as effective as gasoline and diesel? If we get the lobbyists benefits out of the back pocket of politicians we would see less of these dreams.

Hydrogen cars being the future? I'll believe it when I see it. Too expensive.
