So, it costs twice as much to build solar and wind compared to gas plants, and solar and wind provide less than half as much power as the same MW rated plant powered by gas.

If I use 35% for an estimate of 'renewables' capacity factor, and 90% for gas, I figure 'renewable' power actually costs 2X0.9(1.65)=2.97 times as much as gas. And we subsidize it to promote it. So we get to pay for it many ways - higher electric bills, higher taxes, higher inflation, and the resulting higher prices for almost everything.

Great report Mr.Shepstone.We are fighting solar and wind in many counties here in VA and this report will help us show the citizens what is reality of costs and reliability.I will use this in our next meeting.You are the best!!Keep it coming!!
